Water Authority Rijn en IJssel has announced the commissioning of the world’s first (industrial) NEO (Nereda® Extracted Organic) alginate factory in Zutphen. More information see here.

Rijn en IJssel Water Authority is investing 11 million euros in the construction of a factory to extract a new, alginate-like polymer from wastewater. See article in TNW news (TU Delft Applied Sciences) here.
